Make a recommendation for the book you are currently reading. Tell what you like about the book and why and who would probably enjoy reading it. Example: I would recommend the book, Witch and Wizard, by James Patterson to all young adult readers who like conspiracy theories about government and/or who like urban fantasy since it is a combination of both. This book is great because it is not the same old story line for urban fantasy but puts a twist on it by having the characters stand up to a government that basically grabs power, makes everyone act the same or go to jail, and outlaws anything that shows creativity especially by and for teenagers. (why the book is good and who would like it) The main problem or conflict in the book is external because the two main characters, powerful teenagers with the influence and skills to actually defeat the guy in power, are on the run because this government wants to eliminate them as a threat. They are so cool because they try to unify and help other teenagers. The characters are realistic and fresh and the problem is edgy. (2 literary elements and how they make the book better) The passage that stands out for me is the one where the two main characters are forced to run through this line of hungry, insane dogs and back in less than a minute to get their food. I thought this hit home how evil the government really is and what torture they will put the main characters through. I thought it also showed how adults in the book resented the teenagers' ability to be creative and love. (a passage that really spoke to the essence of the book)

ReplyDeleteI would recommend the book "Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Roddrick Rules" by Jeff Kinney to all young children who like humorous sarcastic books. This is a good book because it uses sarcasum to describe what the characters are doing and feeling. The main problem in my book is internal because Greg has to deal with bullies and not having friends.

ReplyDeletei would recomend the book the lord of the flies by william golding. to anyone because its kinda wierd how the characters go back and forth at each other but they show that they are willing to help the group of kids. a passage from the book would be "piggy and the parody were so funny that hunters began to laugh. jack felt encouraged. hw went on scrambling and the laughter rose to a gale of hysteria. unwillingly ralph felt his lips twitch; he was angry with himself for giving way."
2 literary elements that made the book good were irony and personifications because the book was funny in some ways but it made more sence with the personifications. and it really made the book enjoyable.
I like that my book is kinda talking about something in real life it's really funny also. It kinda makes you feel bad for people who are famous who can't have a life. I think Jennie would like reading this. Well she did read this an liked it kinda a girlie love story. But someone who wants to read about love and what not should read it

ReplyDeleteI would not recomend my book to a friend.The name of my book is called replay. Because it does not have a good story to it. Theres nothing exciting that happens. Also another reason why i would not recomend this book is its very hard to understand and its a very long book.

ReplyDeleteI would recommend this book because it is a good example of a coming of age. The book shows the process in which a child becomes a man in the city. I like many things about the book, such as the plot of the story, because it is very realistic and shows the reader what it is like to live in poverty. I believe that almost everybody would enjoy reading the book because it gives the reader a good lesson to be learned. It gives the reader a better understanding of just how hard it is to live in the city under such poor circumstances.

And for people who are not that popular would want to get the squip just the jermey. One quote is the squip tells jermey you can now be what every you every wanted to be all your dreams can come true with me. Theme of the book is what you want is always good for you because jermey really didn't need the squip to be cool and with the squip every thing got better than it got worse. The setting of the book shows why jermey would want a squip.His in class in the back looking at the girl he has a crash on but of course she is popular so he can't talk her and then her friends call him a stalker because they saw him looking at her. With squip he could fix that.

ReplyDeleteThe book I am reading is Beastly by Alex Flinn and i would recommend it to Alayana Stovall because she loves books about romance and fantasy and I think she would really enjoy it. "you are ugly now, on the inside, where it matters most, and if you ever lost your good looks, I bet you wouldn't be smart or strong enough to get them back. You are Beastly." Setting it takes place in a high school and this makes the book better because people can relate to the book. Imagery it showed how he felt about things through the change.
I am reading a book called A Time For Dancing by Davida Wills Hurwin. I would recommend this book for young adult readers.This book is about two teenagers Samantha and Juliana. Samantha and Juliana are the best of friends, they even take dance classes together. Juliana and Sam were enjoying their summer, their last summer before senior year.They spent their time getting ready for whatever they wanted to do after high school, college or even maybe a professional dancing career. Neither of them are ready for the challenges that come next. Juliana is diagnosed with cancer. Its a touching book, but it is the type of book where once you start to read it you cant stop. The passage that stands out to me is when Samantha first finds out about Juliana's diagnosis. Her reaction wasn't as shocking as you would guess. Samantha knew that Juliana has been sick for a very long time. Its just amazing how close Juliana and Samantha are and all the difficulties they both had to go through. I thought that it was great how this book informs others about the difficulties in having a loved one that is diagnosed with cancer. Not many people get second chances, so live while you can and do everything you can for your loved ones, keep them close to your heart.

ReplyDeleteThe book/ book series would be a great book for young adults and teens probably mostly for girl but some boys also. It is a drama filled book with crazy twists and turns just waiting to happen. As i have gotten attached to all the characters you can do the same. Everyone of the four main characters Emily Hannah Spencer and Aria are so different yet, so alike in many ways that you figure out more in the second book. So many different events happen but the whole series is based around a girl named Ali. She went missing, the first book you have no idea what happened or who did it. They reported her dead after about a year. Once you find out what happened in the second book other puzzle pieces come together when you figure out why certain clues have happened. There are 4 books and after the first you cannot stop. The current one i am on, the 3rd gets interesting...

ReplyDeletemy book recomendation is hot rod is about a kid named steve he built a hot rod and raced around town. untill one day a kid that just moved around town chalenged him to a race beause he thinks he hot stuff so they took there cars to the raceway so they can race but two weeks before they had to close the raceway because they made that track illegal to race on so it was illegal to race but they had raced on it anyway they crashed and steve fliped his car.
I like this book because the book I'm reading is the bible. I like this because the Bible says a lot of stores and thing that are going to happen. i enjoy reading the Bible because it has all different stores and it is the most sales book in the world.the one part i like and most people don't get is "In the beginning God made the heavens and the Earth". The things that help this book be better are the settings and the images make the books good you when you read it. this is what i think about my book.

I would recommend this book to anyone who like action or a thriller kind of read.The part in the book that stands out for me was when Alex Rider the main character gets chased through london on a bike by 4 porches. That is just one part of many that has an action sequence during the book.

ReplyDeleteI would recommend Keeping you a secret by Julie Anne Peters to high school students. This book is great because it tells the truth about students who struggle with who they are. High school is where you find out who you are and what type a person you want to be.A quote i found in the book to stand out was "Is it worth falling in love if you have to keep it a secret?" Well it's really a question to ask yourself is it? The book is external because the two characters find a way to turn a bad sitution into something positive and learn from the experience.

brittany thompson i would recommend the book called Time Enough For Drums by Ann Rinaldi becasue the book is fictional and it is history type. if you espically like to read about historical fiction i would deffiently read this book. the book is about a american revolution that has not yet begun in the earnest, but already there are signs of rebellion in the Emerson household. Brought up in a realtively liberal homes. i thought the paraggraph about jem and her family soon find themselves joining the revolution in whatever ways they can. before long, jem discovers that there is much more to John Reid then she ever imagined. i say this one because it tells me that no matter if you are a boy or girl you can still find a way through the revolution and find out alot more about a friend or someone really cloase when you are around them more then normal.

People that would like this book are people that really like Justin Bieber and would like to know about him and his life. “ I got up there and sang my little eight grade butt off, thinking this was possibly, the greatest moment of my entire life, of anyone’s life. Better then hockey, better then Star Wars’ better than Grandma’s turkey and gravy.” There is no real main problem in my book but one could be when Justin was just starting and he had to be heard by someone big.

This book is a book for magic lovers. For people who like to escape from this world into others it’s easy to do with this book. In the book Eragon is wondering if he can trust anyone and Saphria says that she is always there for him. The point of this book is that when you feel alone you are not alone. If there were not problems in the setting then Eragon would not be needed. So since there are problems he is needed and the problems are bad. If there were not some of the character were not the way they are you would not feel any sympathy or axed over the situation.
